Note :If the Application is made after more than one year from the date of expiry of the current Passport, applicant is required to submit an official document from the immigration office of the country of domicile confirming the residential status of the applicant.

Note: If the original of the Sri Lanka National Identity Card or the Sri Lankan birth certificate is not available, the applicant will, have to submit such other documentary evidence as would satisfy the Embassy beyond all doubt of his/her Sri Lankan nationality.

This High Commission charges C$ 75 for Authentication of each document.

Postal charges

If the return of the Passport or original documents is desired by mail, an additional fee of C$ 10 is required or you may send this Mission pre-paid EMS cover.

All Administrative charges are included in the above fee.

A demand draft for the cost of travel document and the registered post should be drawn in favor of Sri Lanka High Commission.

MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF SRI LANKA HAS REVISED THE RATES OF CONSULAR FEES WITH EFFECT FROM 24.04.2008 AS FOLLOWS:

REGISTRATION OF BIRTH

(ii)	For issue of Birth Certificate or each additional copy thereof	C$ 40
REGISTRATION OF DEATHS

REGISTRATION OF MARRIAGE

DELIVERY TIME
will be between 3.30 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.

The High Commission of Sri Lanka recommends to use courier service or registered mail for mailing passports and important documents to the High Commission. This will enable the applicants and the High Commission of Sri Lanka to keep track of documents in the event that these are misplaced or lost.
